Bottom line is - drunk, sober, or just plain a dirtbag...the person that ran this poor man down like a dog in the street is a POS and should be held accountable for their actions. There is no excuse for murdering someone and then leaving them.

Re: Hit And Run by Fountian Boat Fatal To Havasu Stand-Up Rider

What an awefully sad story. How can someone just take off like that after hitting them? I hope they find the guy asap.

Are you guys sure it was a stand up? Here is a quote from the Coroner's office that says the son was a passenger on the watercraft. I doubt there would be two people on a stand up. http://www.co.san-bernardino.ca.us/s...essRelease.asp
" Coroner Case #700706087--On August 09, 2007 at about, 3:00 PM, Barry Lamar Pendley a 47 year old resident of Oak Hills, CA was operating a small personal watercraft northbound on the Colorado River. His 9 year old son was a passenger on the watercraft. Near the entrance to the Topock Marina, a white 25 to 30 foot Fountain Boat, with red and black checkers, occupied by two unknown persons, one female and one male, was south bound. A collision occurred and the boat fled the scene. Mr. Pendley was ejected into the water and was located approximately thirty minutes later in the river and pronounced dead at the scene. The 9 year old small watercraft passenger was rescued from the water uninjured. The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department is investigating. [081007 0931 SY] "

It was a stand up. There were actually 2. The son was riding one and the father was riding one. witnesses at the scene had to pull it out of the water top keep it from sinking. The News was wrong.

How many Fountains of that type are out there or built for ech year for that matter. If they look at state registrations and Coast Guard registrations I'd bet they would find it in short order.

That model hasn't changed that drastically in years. They all look similar.
