    sea doo beeps?

I had my starter replaced on my 98 gtx rfi. I started it a few times and it worked fine. About two weeks later I put the key on and it beeps twice like normal but when I push the start button it does one long beep.
    Please help.

I know that on my '98 GTI if I put the key on it and don't start it right away it will give one long beep. You just have to pull the key off and put it back on - then it should start.

doesnt the long beep mean that the DESS system on the key isnt making proper connection with the "key post"??

If I remeber correctly, when my battery was died/dying I got a long beep while holding the start button instead of the starter turning over.

Long beep is key not reconized by MPEM or bad connection at DESS post.

You also get a long beep when the battery is too low to provide at least 10.1 VDC to the ignition.

A continious beep that will not shut off is your overheating sensor. When the motor cools down it will quit beeping.

Two chirps mean armed and loaded ready to start.

We allready covered the short beeps when you are low on fuel.

There are other beep codes that can be activated by pressing the start buttom 5 times with the lanyard off, then a series of manuvers with the buttons to self diagnose. All this information is written in the service manual for that model. You can download the manual here as links have been provided in another topic called "1996 XP service manual- free " or something like that. Others have added manuals for other models.

I noticed last night that on both of my skis I could barely hear the beep. They both worked fine (the beepers) this past weekend but now on the trailer I can barely hear them. They do beep...just very quietly. What would cause this?

You can test them by grounding the temp sensor wire to the head.
