    Trailer vin number question

The vin number sticker on the trailer is a little worn . Im having a hard time reading the numbers. I would think that they would be grinded in somewhere, but cant find them. Any ideas on what to do. This thing has been sitting for a while and has no known paperwork. I have a part reading with 13 digits and believe all trailors have 17. Thanks in advance !

**** the number especially if you dont have ppwork. That gov doesn't give a rats *** that you don't have the original or any other they will send you on a wild goose cahse every time you come in with what they wanted last time. Peel stickers claim its a homebuilt and your on your way.

Did you buy trailer and have not registered it yet? If so they will go look big pain in the ***. Uh hem a friend bought one owner said had no idea about title so he went out peeled stickers went and weighed it, took it in and said he built a trailer and needed to register. They ask you to fill out a form that says you have a legalities ie lights wala instant registered trailer or go borrow a license plate froma friend with a similar trailer. If you are really desperate and can wait till later print out a bill of sale call it sold you have 30 days.

    yup.....

I wouldn't try to fudge the numbers....you're better off just scrapping the numbers all together and going with what they said.

    Re: Trailer vin number question

I made up everything on my trailer last week. Make, Year and VIN. Of course here, they don't come look at trailer, they just type info you give them. Like they say, tell the its homemade and under 16'. Here, 16' and longer pays more.

I would go broke if I had a plate for all of my trailers.I use the same plate for all of my trailers.Bailing wire is fast and easy when swaping the plate from trailer to trailer

I would switch plates but the cops are pretty bad around here. Im going with the home made trailer routine. I found out it no big deal and easy to do. Thanks for all the info.
