    Starter Bendix stuck

I'm working on a 98 ts1000r and the starter bendix is rusty and locked up. I was just wondering if anyone has been able to get the stator cover off with out removing the engine. The bottom bolts are so tightly tucked behind the engine mount plate that is got to be hard to do. If you were able to do it did you use any special tools. Thanks

    Re: Starter Bendix stuck

I hvae been able to change the bendix on all 1000/1100 without removing the engine. On the 1100 you have to remove the front engine mount and lift the front of the engine up a little. I just use 1/4" with a swival.
