    Can you pull the head to see the tops of the pistons by chance? Maybe pull the plugs and try to turn it over with no compression and then pull the head?

    Shouldn't be insane to fix, it's a somewhat common problem with these skis. Just do a search for "ripped out intake grate" or similar variations and you should find a thread or two on how to fix it....
