    Any ideas what this is and where it could be coming from? Darker than oil off the dipstick but not as thick as grease.

    Makes no difference either way David. The water will run everywhere you need it when flushing. Having the ski in forward or reverse only affects a plastic bucket that pulls over the back of the jet...
