  3. Re: 6th Annual West Coast Freedom Ride: Aug 5-7th, 2011

Snug Harbor Marina on Steamboat Slough called me back and they have 89 octane. This makes another "reasonable" option on the return route for Saturday.

Low octane gas at fuel docks is a reality...
  4. Re: 6th Annual West Coast Freedom Ride: Aug 5-7th, 2011

I checked with Village West Marina next to Garlic Bros, they have 91, it's the ONLY gasoline grade they carry, LOL. They also have diesel. We are good for Sunday's ride on gas. It's only roughly 25...

Here's the GPS route files for both Sat. & Sun. rides.

For this year we are using portions of routes we've done before but mixed them up a bit.

The Sat. ride to Sacramento will head to Walnut...
  6. Re: Is there a AAA type service avaliable for ocean rides?

This is the best advice, just don't ride the ocean alone, period. The best tow service is your wingman who's riding next to you. Just make sure you've got a suitable tow rope/strap with you.
  7. Re: Is it too cold to ride the ocean this Friday 12/24

This is true, only the air temps change, the water not so much.

Re: 2010 West Coast Freedom Ride

Yes, I think attempting to meet up with the group "someplace" will not be practical. At this point we don't know how many people want to do the short or the long return route. If there's not enough...

  11. Re: 4th Annual West Coast Freedom Ride August 6th through August 8th 2010

Here are the GPS route files.

I would suggest the long route on Saturday and the Sunday ride for sure.

I laid out and lead a small group on the Sunday route last year and it's excellent. There...

    Re: 2 stroke restrictions

Currently the only lake in California having any issues with 2-strokes is Tahoe. As far as I know all the other lakes allow 2-strokes.

Tahoe requires either 4-strokes or DI 2-strokes and you...

Unfortunately most of the other lakes in the area (Casitias, Piru, Cachuma) are closed to PWCs which is a shame, especially Casitas which would be a great PWC lake.

    Re: Ventura County Riders?????

Team G, that's a pretty accurate rundown on riding out of Ventura Harbor.

Watch out on the wave jumping, if the patrol boats see you jumping they will hassle you.
  27. Re: Im thinking about trying to ride in the ocean

You will also want a wetsuit, at least a spring/shorty if it's warm.

Where to go may depend on where in the greater LA area you will be staying.
