    start at the pump and inspect the NPT fittings as you follow the flow. blow out hoses with air compressor. Dont know how a motor would act with a reversed head gasket, i have never tried it.

    Get the settings like he mentioned. If your ski doesnt run good with these jets, it is likely that you have a problem elsewhere. These are very close to what i am running in my 750, and its great.

    can you do the welding that would be required to get the custom exhaust set up? That would probably be the biggest hang up, besides the drive shaft coupling.

    Oh yes this motor is going to go into an sxr or blaster and there will be no oil injection, this was was the initial tear down of the couch.

    prevents dumping water in when ski is upside down, and water coming in right side up will be channeled to the bilge, below engine's intake. leave them on.

    I'd prefer the scoop. grates and ride plates are rider preference. Try some out and figure out what you like. The cut in that stock plate is for "freestyle" but that doesnt mean youre gonna start...

    you will probably pick up a little top speed if you get an intake without a scoop. its kind of like a drag brake. boring out your nozzle to bigger will slow you down more too, with gains on how fast...

    definitely go for a kicker on the rear of the tray. I love mine. Also consider JETTRIM. Getting hydroturf to go on well and look good takes a little practice... you will learn on your first go at it.

    +1 for primer kit
    If you "upgrade" your carbs, go to a mikuni setup.
    Front sponsons made a large impact on the way my ski responds. Money well spent.
