sxipro dry pipe was designed and sold with ecwi as port timing was more for top end.
sxr dry pipe did not need the ecwi to function correctly although it does help fatten bottom end pull.

js hull is smc. does not play well with polyester resin compounds.

yes,just disconnect the harness that went to the solenoid valve and you're done.

gelcoat as in polyester based gelcoat? if so,do your exhaust as you want it as the gelcoat won't stick to the smc and will peel off anyway!
only epoxy based resins work on js hulls.

and be ready to clean or repaint that area on regular basis!

did you mount the relay correctly? the post with the red wire goes on the battery + cable. this is what feeds the whole system.
