    Re: 1200 Crank Rebuild

I did a couple when I was a mechanic at a Polaris dealer. This is the tool kit we had. The one used to disassemble that part is in the bottom right corner of the picture. You also need a press with a...
  2. Re: 2000 slx1200. Loses spark. HELP!!! from polaris people

The ignition update kits made the older engines (700/900/1050) like the 1200. The 1200 never came with the older style ignition system, so you find an update kit for a 1200. An update kit for a 1050...
  3. Re: How to test overheating buzzer 94...750 slt

That will test everything except the switch itself. If you want to test it you will have to remove it and heat it in water while measuring resistance and water temperature to see what temperature it...
  4. Re: How to test overheating buzzer 94...750 slt

I think many models did not have a buzzer but would limit RPM and give a visual alert on the display. If yours did not come with a display it may have a buzzer. The temperature switch simply provides...
  5. Re: Bad day on the water for new owner 94 750...(flipped)

That's great! And good catch on the water in the oil. If you are keeping the oil injection make sure you get all the air out of the line.

  6. Re: Bad day on the water for new owner 94 750...(flipped)

Yeah, pull the plugs, hold the throttle open and crank it. If little to no water comes out you may have it running again pretty easily. If you have a fountain it will take some time to get it cleared...
  7. Re: Bad day on the water for new owner 94 750...(flipped)

Most Polaris skis came with a sticker on the the back, below the bond line. It was upside down so that it could be read easily while the ski is flipped. It tells you which way to turn it back over....

Re: New owner.. 94..slt 750. Basic questions

Re: New owner.. 94..slt 750. Basic questions

It's the diaphragm on one carb is leaking, you probably need to rebuild all three. Cooling water comes from the jet pump so the engine does not need a water pump. This machine does not have a pisser....
  11. Re: Polaris SLTX '97, "HOT OIL" for a second or two

Everything terminates in the electrical box. I believe it is a tan wire. It can just be unplugged except it may need to be taped or tied back so it can't cause any shorts.

Re: New owner.. 94..slt 750. Basic questions

I might consider upgrading the fuel pump, but in my experience that one is sufficient if the fuel line routing from the pump to the carbs has been updated. (Assuming the boat is stock.)

  14. Re: Polaris SLTX '97, "HOT OIL" for a second or two

The temp switch can just be unplugged.

That cooling system originally included a thermostat and a spring loaded valve that would open to bypass the thermostat as boat speed increased. If the...

Re: New owner.. 94..slt 750. Basic questions

Vinyl hoses that have one end attached near the jet pump would be part of a bilge siphon that draws water out of the hull when water is moving through the jet pump. Each siphon hose should have two...

Re: New owner.. 94..slt 750. Basic questions

The valve is a vacuum operated fuel shut off. They tended to cause problems and latter models did not come with them. I would remove it.

  19. Re: Polaris SLTX '97, "HOT OIL" for a second or two

It could also be an issue with the engine temp sensor. If the sensor is bad it can be unplugged, but I would verify that the cooling system is working correctly first.

Re: 1999 Genesis carb, no spark, need help

Re: 1999 Genesis carb, no spark, need help

Although cranking voltage at CDI is on the low side, the fact that you are getting 7.5 volts on the brown wire suggests that the CDI is waking up. You might try cranking it with black/yellow wire...

  29. Re: After the wiring meltdown... 1996 780 SLX won't run full throttle
