    Yes you could do it that way but I don't because you are tring to force it in backwards from the normal direction that the water flows in the engine, not a great idea.

    Not on a 787 but on may other skis I have drilled for a second pulse line, if you are very careful and use heavy grease on the drill bit and clean it often it can be done without engine disassembly.

    Last one I had like that I cut a pice of pipe at at angle. the pipe would then go over the shaft and rest against the impeller, then with a five lb sledgehammer I beat the impeller off of the shaft.

    This is why I stopped working on DI equipped skis, even with the computer to hook to them diagnoising them was hit or miss, luckily I was able to repair all of those I worked on.
