  1. Re: Yamaha 1100cc not running after seafoam

Homer, you're just spinning your wheels trying to do anything to those skis before rebuilding those six carburetors with genuine, Mikuni rebuild kits. Mikuni carb kits are not cheap, either. ...
  2. Re: Need advice! Purchasing another machine!

There is no timing chain problem with the non-supercharged 1.8L engines. In fact the only supercharged engines that had the timing chain problem were the 2014-2015 SVHO models. Yamaha made changes...

Re: 97 GP 1200 Cooling Water Not Flowing

I just saw your post and it appears that you have your water outlet sorted out. My 1997 GP1200 water exit (on the hose) is sensitive to what the trailer's angle is. In other words, if the trailer...
  5. Re: '95 WaveRunner RA1100 - High Idle / Full Throttle on land

I'm very happy to hear that you did confirm that you had a bad throttle cable and it was causing the problem. Time for a replacement cable.
  6. Re: '95 WaveRunner RA1100 - High Idle / Full Throttle on land

Did you check your throttle cable for binding?

I think jgrilo's problem is a binding throttle cable. I'm still waiting for him to respond and let us know what he found.

Re: Spark and adjustment problem '99 GP1200s

Back when I had two identical Sea Doo XP skis, I put an number "1" sticker on the back of one ski and a number "2" sticker on the back of the other. So they were then called "one" and "two."

Re: Spark and adjustment problem '99 GP1200s

You can swap the stator with the motor in the hull. I had to do this to my 1997GP1200 a little over 2 years ago. When my stator died, it was dead. There was no intermittent running.

    I'm...

  10. Re: '95 WaveRunner RA1100 - High Idle / Full Throttle on land

    Yes. Throttle cable.

At first I thought that you had an air leak but after reading your entire thread, I think that you've got some type of throttle cable binding issue.

    Disconnect the...

Re: 95 wave raider engine vibration

That's a great idea for you to try, Slinger. I forgot all about rocking the engine to check for broken mounts. I had to do this with the Sea Doos that I used to own. I had a number of broken motor...

Re: 95 wave raider engine vibration

I just watched your video and it does appear that your engine is vibrating more than my '94 Raider does. I'd go out and start my ski and compare however I'm out of ethanol free gasoline. I...
  13. Re: Wave Raider 701 Cooling and Fuel Assistance

My Raider's 2 cylinder, 701 engine is a fairly smooth running 2-stroke at any speed including idle. Now lets talk about my 1997 GP1200's 3-cyl engine. That engine vibrates like crazy at idle. Once...

Re: Yamaha Waverunner FX 140 won't start

I don't know that Stephen has been back on this site since he posted back in early April.

9551, I think you're on the right track about the resistance. Stephen said that his fully charged battery...
  15. Re: Wave Raider 701 Cooling and Fuel Assistance

Slinger, you've probably already got the fuel lines primed but if you haven't yet, you can always squirt a little bit of premix fuel down the carburetors to get the ski to start momentarily. This...
  16. Re: Best Battery For Yamaha & Best Practice For Longevity?

Rick, I agree with what you found about the AGM batteries being heavier. My lone lead acid battery is definitely lighter than any of the AGM batteries that I have.
  17. Re: Best Battery For Yamaha & Best Practice For Longevity?

I'm going to go against the grain of this thread as I'm an AGM battery guy. I've been using them since sometime after 2005. I've had good luck with some and not so good luck with others. I've...
  18. Re: Yamaha xl700 2004 No Spark. Help appreciated

You're welcome. I hope it can help you.

I think that it was a broken wire underneath the heat shrink tubing making it very difficult to find.

ausway, your situation sounds different but I thought that I'd post this because you never know.

Several years ago, my 1997 GP1200 just abruptly lost spark. I did some research online and then...

You did say that you noticed gas leaking from the bottom of your carbs. If you're certain that...

  29. Re: 1995 Yamaha Wave Venture No Start (But it does...)

Yes. You're correct on the 2014 VXR which is completely different than the 2015-2019s. Its commonly known that the newer version is about 3 mph slower than the older hulls. My 2012 VXS and 2013...

  35. Re: I think I need a new impeller for my '94 purple hull Raider

I've been looking at the online, OEM parts finders. For a 1994, 701 Raider, the part number is:

  37. Re: I think I need a new impeller for my '94 purple hull Raider

  38. Re: I think I need a new impeller for my '94 purple hull Raider

I'd have to pull everything apart and check and see if the edges have been grinding. I'm guess that they have been but when I finally take it apart, I'll confirm it.
  39. Re: I think I need a new impeller for my '94 purple hull Raider

The 58V in the eBay ad is not the 14.5/18.5, right? The 58V might have to be repitched? I'm sorry but I'm clueless when it comes to impellers. Clueless!
  40. I think I need a new impeller for my '94 purple hull Raider

  41. Oil tank cap is broken-1994 WaveRaider

  43. Re: why is a 94 waveraider faster than the newer ones

jd, thank you for that information. I never considered that the impeller may be bad. When the OEM wear ring was saltwater swollen, the impeller was contacting it and then eventually over a period...
  44. Re: why is a 94 waveraider faster than the newer ones

  45. Re: why is a 94 waveraider faster than the newer ones

I don't really know where the Coffman pipe cracked the engine. I think that it was at one of the pipe mounting lugs where it bolts to the outer cylinder case. At least that's what I've always...
