    Cylinders do not seize just because a main seal is leaking.
    It takes a combination things going wrong that when added
    together cause a cylinder to sieze.

    You need to try the paper clip test to see if the fuel pump
    is working.

    Most likely 2 separate problems. Diagnose the starting
    first.

    Maybe, but it would be a fuel pump problem. Possibly on
    a 44mm Mikuni from a 760, or 1200 Yamaha. They have
    issues with fuel pump check valves getting damaged.

    I suspect you are describing 2 problems.

    After you start the engine, if the waterbox is dry or not at the
    normal water level, the engine will run lean. Especially with a
    drilled waterbox.
