    Whats the best way to free up a motor? Pull the plugs and use WD40, let it sit for a day or two?

    Re installed the oil sensor/pick up. Repaired the starter. Motor turns over with out the plugs but not with the plugs. Had the battery tested and its at 100%. The motor sounds like there's molasses...

    1996 Seadoo GTI Starter Issue

    GTI wont start. I press the start switch and I can hear the starter engage but that's it. I checked the battery and its fully charged. Any suggestions?

    So ski ran great until I came in to take a break. Went to restart and it wouldn’t start. The starter engages but nothin happens.

    So the DES post is the switch and the lanyard programmed to the MPEM allows the switch to open or close the circuit.

    Am I correct in thinking that the lanyard is programmed to the DES post? If so can I try a different lanyard and DES from my 96 GTI that I know works?

    That is a good question, I have (2) lanyards and (2) DESS posts. I do not know if they work.

    I tried bypassing the relay and that did not work. By any chance would the "grey box" from a 96 gti work on a 96 gtx?

    You were correct. One of the seals was bad. Replaced last night. I'll fire it up after work and see what happens.

    Thanks, I'll pull the head and have a look. So at an idle if the o rings were bad it wouldn't make a difference? Only at higher RPM's?

    I did replace the spark plugs, the motor ran the same with the seat off.
    The springs were not green that I installed in the carbs.
    The engine will not push through the bog.

    What I checked this...

    I did but I used an aftermarket kit instead of the OEM Mikuni kit. From what I am seeing this is a mistake.

    I replaced the entire assembly. I did not adjust the idle speed so I will do that. I did adjust the low speed screws to 1 1/2 turns out.
