Re: How do you avoid hazards?

Later I asked around. That lake, like many in Northern Michigan, is a flooding that 100 years ago was a forest. There are stumps everywhere just below the surface.

    How do you avoid hazards?

I'm still fairly new to this and our jet skis have only been off our own lake a couple times.
Is there a website where you can go to find out about hazards or areas to avoid on lakes & rivers?

Re: My gas soaked fuel sending unit fix

    Reviving this thread...

  4. Re: A salute to the Old Dudes that still ride Jet Skis!

Last year I turned 60 and it was my first summer with Jetskis at my cottage. I bought them near the end of winter and had never even sat on one previously.

    Re: STX 1100 DI Problems

My overheating Zxi? Yes. The problem was a restriction in a little brass elbow that feeds water from the stator loop down into the expansion chamber where it goes on to fill & cool the water box....

    Re: STX 1100 DI Problems

My bad. I looked at several STX1100 diagrams while trying to figure out my own overheat issue and I missed the unique difference to the DI version.

It's taken me a month to get back to this project but I finally found the restriction.
I never got a reply about what happens in the expansion chamber, which *appears* to have BOTH water flowing...

    97 Zxi tach has quit

Until today my tach worked *almost* all the time. On occasion the needle didn't move on startup but usually turning it off - on & restarting would "fix" the issue.
    Today this no longer works.

    Re: Winterize Jet Ski

Blowing it out is a little tricky & a bit more work. You don't want to pressurize the jackets with 100psi so regulate it down to 20-30. Antifreeze is a shortcut and "safer" for the inexperienced.
