  1. Re: 11/14 Pitch for 760 venture is hurting its top speed

Yes I had a stock 701 head shaved and re-domed to 84mm for my 760 build as I wanted very high compression [it has 220psi domes]. I also had the same done for my old 701 combo @185psi and my old kawi...
  2. Re: 11/14 Pitch for 760 venture is hurting its top speed

I got a 760 venture that blew its motor and threw together a 701 from spare parts to get it going again, which was a 61x lower with 62t cylinder. The prop is way too much for this combo, I'm just...

Re: 650sx best mods for low end

The silver manifolds had those from the factory on 650sx's as well, the earlier black manifolds did not.

    I put a SP750, dual SRX 40mm SBN's, a 165psi head, Silver divertor manifold, modded and...
  4. Re: Pee hole not putting out water like it use to

Flushing when your riding fresh water doesn't make any sense but to each their own.
Seems to me like you sucked up something into the cooling system. Start at the pump fitting and work your way...

Re: Winter project Wave venture 700s

If the lower end holds vaccum, then the seals are fine.
Any reed is fine, they all work. I've run carbon reeds in the past when I didn't want to use oem, but now I have Vforces.
  7. Re: I have no compression after changing piston

Put the head gasket back on? Remember to install the reeds?
You can't just slap parts on without at least honing, but the lack of any compression is the first issue to deal with.

    Re: Square Nose handling

My square with a protec ride plate [yes extended] and scoop intake [I think r&d?] handled great. No porposing, and flat turned on a dime, literally the reason I love superjets so much. Try to turn it...
  9. Re: Forgive me ... but dual cooling off the head from a single inlet ...

So factory wave runner 760's [only 760 setup I've worked with] with a single line in, and dual out [1 going to pipe, one strait to pisser overboard] are a bad idea and Yamaha is wrong? I doubt that...
  10. Re: Forgive me ... but dual cooling off the head from a single inlet ...

    That's absurd.
Reducing the restriction on the outlet only lets the inlet move the max amount of water it can. I've run single in/dual out setups on all my standups and sitdowns without issue for...

Re: 650sx runs great without hood on.

Ahhh the old leaking 650sx exhaust. I remember at least two times I rode back on my knees so I could steer with one hand and hold the hood up in back so it would be able to breath enough to get home.

Re: 95 waveventure 700 no crank help

If you aren't getting signal to the solenoid then the start/stop switches went bad. Happens all the time.

    Re: unequal compression

Pull cylinder. Measure bore. If its beyond spec, new top end. If its in spec, measure the pistons. If they are in spec then new rings and a hone should get you good. Thats after confirming the head...
  20. Re: The best yamaha jetski that's not super charge??

Superchargers only come on newer top tier 4 stroke sitdowns. So the vast majority of yamaha ski's don't have them.

Re: Going rate for 61x or 62t

    Not this again.
Used doesn't equal rust. How many un-rusted 20yr old engines do you want pics of? I have at least 7 in my backyard right now.

You can usually find an old sitdown [usually a VXR]...

    Re: unequal compression

Not concerned, just know its on the way out. If it makes enough power to make you happy I'd keep running it until something goes, or if you are familiar with these then you can take it apart and...
  23. Re: Compression: Which is more important PSI or relative pressure?

If relative pressure was all that mattered, then they could both be at zero and it would run.

To answer, both matter, and your compression is low. But not low enough to make it not start.

  25. Re: WaveVenture Donor Questions. Building (2) 1100 B1s

An 1100 will have a 155mm pump, it will not bolt into a 144mm pump that the blaster has unless the blaster is some special one off model from Yamaha because no other models do that. Every other hull...
  26. Re: how to identify a 701 from a 650 engine ?

    Cylinder will say 61x.
61x case tops have slightly larger reeds then 6m6 case tops. 62t and 64x case tops have larger reeds then 61x and are the oem dual carb case tops. All cases use 6m6 bottem...
  27. Re: SN superjet / waverunner parts interchange

Re: What is the best year for SuperJet?

Exactly, on top of the fact you are only blowing out the water in the exhaust, you are not moving the water in the engine at all.

  30. Re: Pro tec exhaust from a 650 work at all on a 701?

The stock waterbox is fine and doesn't require changing unless you backfire and blow its fiberglass as* up lol.
  31. Re: Pro tec exhaust from a 650 work at all on a 701?

I'd think a small port 650 protec exhaust would still make more power then a stock breadbox on a 701

Re: What is the best year for SuperJet?

Ok first off I also have no rust and I don't try to explode my engine like you do. Its in no way, shape or form needed. Revving, letting it idle, rev it again, do that a couple times and all is well...

    Silly oil injection question.

Re: Why i own a jetski

I like fast motorcycles [read: not vtwins]
When it gets too hot to ride them, its just warm enough for jetskis.
When its too cold for skis, bikes come back out. Its perfection.

  42. Re: 95 Waveraider 700 cranks but will not start

Later raiders had dual 44mm carb 760's [64x] and single carb 701's [61x] in them instead of the dual 38mm carb 701[62t], might be why you are seeing different schematics.

  45. Re: 95 Waveraider 700 cranks but will not start
