  1. Sticky: Re: The "wow, my shark ran great and we had a good time" thread

Still own my 1999 TS640. Spent most of the weekend riding it and went out on a ride today too. Despite being 23 years old it runs great. Just pulled my pump a few weeks ago and added 2 ounces of...

    Re: Won't idle.

Possible plugged low speed circuit. I would remove both jets and do a carburetor soak on the carburetor body. Also an air leak in the case will definitely affect the engine idle. You can do a leak...

    Re: PJ640 is it seized?

Put a little bit of 2 stroke oil in the cylinders and and with the spark plugs out see if you can turn the engine over by turning the PTO coupler at the rear of the engine. Without the sparkplug it...

Actually Group K tested both exhaust systems and found no significant difference between the two in horsepower. One area to improve the 640 is to clean up the casting flash in the exhaust ports and...

    Re: 640 cuda/race build

Since you have an older Tigershark I am not sure if you will be able to find any upgraded impellers. I have an Impros Polaris Stainless steel 12/18 Skat Trak impeller and the 6 veins stainless steel...

The reason for total loss ignition is to get rid of the heavy stock flywheel.Take off the front stator cover and see if there is a normal flywheel on it. It is only held on by 5 bolts or so and it is...

I have bought stuff from Marto's. He has tons of stuff for Tigersharks and I heard he bought up some parts straight from Arctic Cat when they discontinued the Tigersharks back in 1999. Here is the...

Re: Another motor swap thread... 900/640

What year is it? It most likely would work but you would find it to be a bit lacking compared to the 900cc as long as the driveshaft will connect to it. The pumps on the 1997 through 1999's in the...

  18. Re: Tigershark owners 1.4 degree offset flywheel key makes for even better aceleratio

Yes. All Tigershark flywheels and cranks use the same fly wheel key. I should have got the 2.5degree since the 1.4 degree is a relatively mild upgrade but it improves throttle response and...
  19. Re: Tigershark owners 1.4 degree offset flywheel key makes for even better aceleratio

I would not recomend the Kawasaki timing advance plate because it advances the timing too much (6 degrees) and will lead to overheating on a Tigershark. The Fett Brothers timing advance works well...

  26. Re: 97 tigershark 770 problem after running great for 2 weeks
