  1. Re: 787 runs ok on trailer but getting too much fuel in water

Buy a new OEM rectifier/regulator and install, I think you are chasing your tail on the fuel/timing thing.
  2. Re: 96XP: Very obvious "knee" in the throttle curve - RAVE's? Water regulator?

I had at least 20 - 787s and they all work slightly different. Adjusting the " red cap" adding washers to the water regulator etc. affect this transition some but they are still 787s with rave...

    Re: 587 Single Carb Bogging

Sounds like you have done everything you should do except checking pop off. If you use the factory set up and the correct springs that have not been adjusted pop off should not be off though. But...
  5. Re: Introduction and questions for the experts

Got your PM and responded. Looks like the pistons have decent piston wash so combustion was good when it was running correctly. There is some cylinder erosion(rust) and by the looks of the wash...

    Re: Seadoo Electrical

Blowing the fuse is never a good sign - something shorted which caused this. I'm with Grumpy on the MPEM.

If it didn't blow the fuse I would say to inspect the female sockets on the wiring harness...
  7. Re: 95 XP alignment question - cant figure it out

Another variable is that some Seadoos also were shimmed at the pump as well and shimming there is very significant to other alignment due to the distance from the pump to the PTO. I have extra good...

    Re: 95 xp

1.50 over is on the edge of leaving the stock carb setup. What did you do with the head? is your squish in spec? 1.2 NS and 40 pop off is what's normal. What are your high and low speed screw...

    Re: 96 Seadoo Xp?

Open the low speed screws another 1/8 to 1/4 turn. Open the high speed on the PTO carb to 1/4 to 1/2 turn out and see what happens.

Then and only then would I consider jet and pop off changes.

Re: seadoo alignment issue with 95 xp

Correct-- any ski that I have replaced the motor on has never needed this but some have been close. Are you sure you can't get it with other adjustments? Sometimes it looks like I don't have enough...

Re: MPEM that works for 1999-2000 GTX

The transition year for a Seadoo 951 was 1998 to 1999. Difference is in the stator and the number of poles on the stator flywheel. These motors (1998) needed a different ignition setup and MPEM. All...

Re: Doubling up on oil mix?

Over oiling will cause excessive carbon build up, eventually cause ring seizure, and cause the plugs to foul, along with making it run poorer. Only time this should be done is during break in on a...

Re: 2011 Sea Doo GTI 130 Starting Issue

    Re: Starter gear issue

Never saw that and not sure how that can happen unless your starter is broken or an aftermarket POS.
  17. Re: 96 GTX Runs poorly at 1/3 to 1/2 throtttle

You are at the transition point of the Rave valves and this is normal----some skis are worse than others though. 1/2 turn open on lows will be lean since your carbs are stock.

Re: Wtb - 96 xp motor

    Re: 93 xp mepm

A 717 MPEM would functionally work but would have DESS after 1995 and you may have to make some minor wiring changes. 657X will not work.

Unless you use 657X stator assembly.

Re: Xp limited. No oil in pump.

  35. Re: PTOs on a 1999 787 RFI GSX and a 1997 787 GSX

Heat on the PTO is pretty much required to remove most PTOs. Best method is to remove the seal and heat the back side of the PTO. You will need a significant vise for this.
