    Re: Fuel Smell

hydrocarbon vapors are heavier than air.

So it is very likely the vapor has been sitting on the bottom of
the hull after the fuel inside the fuel inside carb evaporated
    years ago.

    Re: Crankshaft repair

So you want a shop to be responsible for the parts they didn't
replace. If a old rod bearing fails, is it just bad luck?

Has water ever accumulated in the front cover and rusted the
    flywheel?...

    Re: Fuel Smell

Your carburetor was capable of venting fuel from the float
diaphragm through the pilot, low speed, and main circuits.

All fuel tanks have a vent, and all watercraft are equipped

Re: 1994 Kawasaki XIR... To Restore or No?

There was a manufacturing error. Kawasaki increased the pump angle
beyond 1 degree. I had to change that for several customers because
    it affected top speed.

Water builds up inside air compressors. Be sure to drain your air tank before you spray.

    Re: 650sx exhaust tune baseline

Just habit I guess. The torque on 440/550's flywheel is a lot more
than 650's, so I started with the front cylinder. But I snug the coupler
while the rope is in the front cylinder.

What impeller is installed? and do you have a trailer
    and a local boat ramp?

Keep in mind that cold weather needs more fuel than
hot weather. But the process is the same.

Re: New SBT engine burning oil

My guess is the oil consumption is caused by the rear cylinders intake valve

The 95gr was used in the accelerator pump carbs and the
    80gr in the older non-accelerator pump carbs. A 70 low, 1.5
    N&S, and an 80gr spring is a good combo for 38, 40mm sbn-i
