    Re: SXR 951 build

mines bored out to 1050cc and should be putting out around 190hp with the option of going even bigger. Will easily make up for the extra weight IMO :Banane45:

  8. Re: Can Kawasaki studs be replaced with bolts?

    +1.
  9. Re: Can Kawasaki studs be replaced with bolts?

SXR drypipes use bolts for the exhaust because the studs are too short. However, I'd much rather have studs as it makes everything easier to line up when your putting it together

    Re: Custom Aluminum Handle Pole

Looks good although I'd agree that strength will be your biggest problem. I built mine out of 150X50mm extrusion and when I built it I thought it would be near indestructable. However, I ended up...

    Re: Another SXR build up

For the hood liner block off the front intake hole then you can remove the front half of the liner. I added a second intake to the back of the hood to compensate for the reduced airflow

    Re: hot to d cut

Best tool by far to round off the edges is an angle grinder fitted with a flap disc. You can take off heeps of material real quick and it leaves a real nice finish.

Jazz make an awsome one thats shaped to fit behind the seat in a dragster. It holds 4gallon and is almost the perfect shape to fit in a ski. They're also super light-weight.

    Re: gruop k 850cc

Don't do it... If you seize a piston on an engine thats bored out to 850cc you will not be able to rebore it and will have to replace the barrel. Its best to go up one size at a time.

I've towed my SXR several times at reasonable speeds without a problem. Have also used it to tow other SXRs, superjets etc. The bow ring is plenty strong enough for towing.
