    Re: bleed outlet help

Just to add, that should be a 951cc......they won't put up with anything being half-assed. All bolts should have a dab of blue locktite. What did said mechanic work on and what did they leave loose?

Re: Top end tear down questions

I agree. Most likely froze and busted out causing a huge water leak when they tried to run it. Spring is likely inside the hull under the engine. Try putting it nose high and using the water hose to...

    Re: 99 900stx hesitation problem

Sounds like the vac slides are not opening fully. With carbs off use a shop vac on engine side and open the throttle. The slide should fully open.

This one does the same with temp sensor unhooked? I had an Arieltek mpem on a 717 that did that goofy beep and solenoid bump every time it powered up too! But, it ran fine. The 580 mpem should work,...

Re: Crankshaft seals on 1100 zxi

Heat! I clamp the crank in a vise, heat the coupler until the paint starts to smoke, grab it with a big 'ol pipe wrench, and smack the wrench with a hammer. They usually just come right off.

If you're talking about the orange/red check valve, it's the same as in many Holley carbs. Might find it at the auto parts store or from any local hot rodder.

Those low speed screws will need to be about 1-1/2 turns out on an older engine. Brand new or freshly rebuilt around 1-1/4 turns out. Crack the highs open 1/16 to 1/8 turn.

    Re: 650sx: impeller recommendations?

The stock compression, and stock pipe, with 44 carb and intake is not helping. The stock pipe works great if you lengthen the stinger 3" at the fat coupler part. You can also find a 34 or 38mm carb...

Re: Did I just cook my engine?

Take the plastic guard off behind the engine. Then you can grab the drive coupler and turn it. Could be your pump bearings have crapped.

  44. Re: xlt1200s losing pistons and cylinders so i want to run carbs richer

It's sucking air at that stupid lip where the pump meets the shoe. I guess the engineers were too stupid to know that would cause problems.

Re: kawasaki sts 900 leaking water

I don't think it would hurt anything or cause any cavitation, but.....I don't believe it's necessary either. After the 5200 sets up it's not going anywhere.
