    Re: 92 Waverunner vxr

I can pull the black/white wire from stop switch it will fire right up. If I hit the start button and it doesn't even crank I can tap the switch and it will crank. Not the cdi.

  9. Re: 1989 yamaha WR500 not running in water...

Check compression, also could be exhaust or pump issue causing it. The ski has ALOT of water pressure in the water compared to on a hose it takes a lot more power and torque even to start it. Some...

Re: Aquatrax speedometer stuck on 0

You'll probably have to get a new wire , mine wasn't broke, I noticed it when it wouldn't seat evenly and pulled it out.

Re: Aquatrax speedometer stuck on 0

Not sure if it's like my 03 F12x BUT when you put in the water stator (jet pump), the wire that runs to the wheel at the rear of the ski for the speedometer can easily get between the pump housing...

Re: 92 Waverunner Hard cold starting

I think I've got it, not sure. I flushed out the tank and put on a new filter and last couple days I cranked it after work and it fired up pretty fast. Now on to Craig's List they go!

  16. Re: Aquatrax f12x. Blown turbo. Water in oil

Correction, it was in Virginia on CL and it was $2000, still there today. Might get it cheaper?
  17. Re: Aquatrax f12x. Blown turbo. Water in oil

I'd hunt up another motor, you've already bought the most expensive parts. I saw an F12X in FLA on CL a guy is selling for $1500, claims it needs a fuel injector and I think he even has the new fuel...

    92 Waverunner Hard cold starting

I've read a lot about these old 2 stroke skis being hard to start especially when setting for days but this ski is ridiculously hard to start. I thought it was a spark issue , put on new caps but it...
  19. Re: Aquatrax f12x. Blown turbo. Water in oil

WOW, I'd say it needs rebuilt. Again I'd go with what Brian says.
  20. Re: Aquatrax f12x. Blown turbo. Water in oil

Bummer! You might have gotten enough debris in the engine that it caused the problem. Some guys say change oil 6 times, some say flush with diesel or engine flush, some even say take it completely...
  21. Re: Anyone have a good exhaust manifold for sale?

Those are to set a security code so only you can start it, maybe it has a code in it? Instructions on restting it are on here somewhere cause I've seen them before. I've never set mine so not sure...
  22. Re: Anyone have a good exhaust manifold for sale?

I guess what I'm thinking is a new main relay is only about $50, new computer is 10 - 20 times more?
  23. Re: Anyone have a good exhaust manifold for sale?

It does sound like something wrong but I would call Brian (Skidoc) at Jet Ski International. He knows more than anyone on these Honda skis. You're sure all the plugs are connected and not corroded?...

  26. Re: Anyone have a good exhaust manifold for sale?

Looks GOOD!.What model ski is it, an F or R? Why do you think the computer is bad?
  27. Re: Aquatrax f12x. Blown turbo. Water in oil

Unless you've had a failure or issues it should be fine, you can pull the line at the turbo, make sure your ski has the proper amount of oil don't drain it and put it in a container at that end next...
  28. Re: Aquatrax f12x. Blown turbo. Water in oil

Easily done just pump the oil out pull that banjo bolt on the bottom of that line, there's also a keeper screw that holds the line to the block it takes about 30 minutes but that screen is actually...
  29. Re: Aquatrax f12x. Blown turbo. Water in oil

Wow, mine doesn't flow that good lol. Now if your exhaust manifold had even a slight leak on the hoes like I said it's a lot worse in the water because the pressure is a lot more than what you can...
  30. Re: Aquatrax f12x. Blown turbo. Water in oil

Should be part 5, it's in the end of that banjo bolt.

  32. Re: Aquatrax f12x. Blown turbo. Water in oil

The water hose only puts out a fraction of the pressure compared to being in the water running so its worse than it appears. The oil line on the bottom of the turbo has screen in the end of the banjo...

Re: 92 waverunner 650 plug caps

The local powersports dealer had some NGK lzfh 8381 caps. They are a screw on type hard plastic with a rubber boot where the wire connects. I might try them and see if they work.

Re: 92 waverunner 650 plug caps

Thanks, so is there a resistor in the boot of these old skis? I see the NGK TB05e boot has a resistance listed so I'm guessing I still would use stock plugs?
