    What's the best cover?

Looks like I'm keeping my ski so I need a new cover. I've had the OEM Honda cover and about 3-4 other types. The Honda cover seems to be the best, and easiest to install/take off but it's pricey.

  4. Re: Engine overheated on hose with salt terminator attatched

Your only as old as you feel. I have the body of a 20 year old. (In the trunk of my car)
  5. Re: Engine overheated on hose with salt terminator attatched

Is the water slow only when you add the salt away dispenser? It's fine when you just use the hose?

Yeah, my ski is back up running. I found a used fresh water manifold, looked like brand new...
  6. Re: Engine overheated on hose with salt terminator attatched

Mine flows a lot less than the hose, but I just keep turning the water on harder until I get a good stream out the pisser. The salt thing only has a 3/8" hole and the garden hose is 1/2".

    Rotted exhaust manifold post mortem

My ski suffered from the rotted manifold problem many of us have had. It's all fixed up now, but I thought the old rotted one was interesting.

I smacked the rotted part off with a hammer, and this...

    Re: Water hoses

That's what I was thinking. There's pressure in a car's water system, but the Honda is vented through the pisser, so I'd think heater hoses would be as good or better. And there is equal or less heat...

    Water hoses

Probably a dumb question, any reason I can't use regular heater hose for the water lines? Other than the pre-formed bends, there can't be anything special about the water hoses, right?

They are still on National Backorder according to JetSkiInt.

    Re: F12x turbo return lines

What exactly are you trying to do? If you're just nervous about getting enough oil to the turbo, as long as there is oil coming out of the line and it's not just a little dribble you're fine. Most...
  12. Re: Anyone have a good exhaust manifold for sale?

Can't wait to get mine running and sell it. Pretty disgusted about spending $800 on a part that rotted out, that's clearly in a spot that should be designed not to.

    If I'm thinking correctly, the...

How about taking a video of the oil supply hose going into a can while you turn the motor over with the starter. (Spark plugs out)

    Re: F12x turbo return lines

The center cartridge is the part of the turbo that houses the bearings. It's the metal housing with the oil lines going in/out.

On my ski, with the oil feed line disconnected and put into a coffee...

    Re: 2007 F12 Turbo Aquajet

There are a bunch of potential reasons you might be seeing reduced rpm's. Normally you should see 6000 rpms.

Check the easy stuff first. Are the spark plugs good? Oil at the right level? Air...

    Re: F12x turbo return lines

The turbo's bearings are lubricated by oil, and the center cartridge is also cooled by oil. So one line going in supplies oil to the bearings and center cartridge. The smaller outlet is for the...

Re: Test motor when its out of the ski

If you have the capability to do a leak down test, that would be way more informative than a compression test. Plus you won't have to spin the motor over meaning no wiring/battery necessary.

Re: 04 f12x overheats and loss of power

No water pump, the jet pump provides the pressurized water.

You can take off water hoses at different spots and see how much water flows using the garden hose flushing method. I'd start with the...

Re: Turbo Aquatrax ECU alternative thread

  37. Re: f-12x running great but not going about 5000rpms

Are you measuring it with the throttle wide open? If not that will result in lower readings.

Doubtful your engine has an internal problem, it's most likely lower than normal boost making your ski...
  38. Re: f-12x running great but not going about 5000rpms

    Re: Macsboost module issue

Yes, water temp. The computer runs the engine rich when cold so it will idle correctly and run right. That's why you see soot out the exhaust when you run the engine on a hose.

  41. Re: 2002 F-12 4400 rpms in water. 7500 rpm without load

You need compression, spark and fuel. One of those things is not 100%. Did you do a compression test, leakdown? Positive your plugs are good? Check fuel pressure and volume?
