Re: 2017 Sea Doo GTX Gauge

The gauge is either the water or the air temp. Did you notice which one it said? Did the gauge quit working entirely or just the temp? If the gauge kept working it probably was just the sensor.

Re: 96 xp not getting max rpm or speed

Only thing wrong besides sitting for a year. To many to count things that can cause a 787 to run poorly. I would suspect you have trashed the fuel system. Start there with the lines and carbs.

If 96 not available, get a 97 and rework a couple of the harness connectors. It will work. been there, done that.

    Re: 1998 Sea-Doo GTX

Only 1 water outlet on back by the handle. Where is this other place you see? You have something wrong. The service manuals in the sticky at the top of this forum will have your cooling system.

    Re: seadoo power valve question

Agree with SpitAndDirt. If you want help, give enough info to diagnosis the problem and be civil about it! Replace the RAVE valve AND the base.

    Re: WSM Rotary Valve

Check the RV cover as well. If the clearance to too much it will cause hard starting. While at it on these older machines it is better to replace and stay 1 ahead of the problem since you already...

    Re: 96 gtx 787

I have 3 of those. If you have ruled out fuel delivery issues, go with the RV. Considering the age, that is the fastest horse. Change the valve AND cover and it should start like new. I know mine...

Re: Engine Alignment or Rebuild Jet pump?

Could be either or could be engine itself. When was the last time you serviced the bearings? Fluid look Ok? Bearings feel smooth when turning the shaft? I found that most seadoos eventually get a...

    Re: 96 GTX wont start

Replace the battery with a known good one. I've found that a maintainer does not always keep a battery where if needs to be to start these engines. If the solenoid works, it works. If not, replace.

Re: 1996 Seadoo XP - MPEM Diagnosis

  17. Re: Seized my rebuilt 787 engine, need your advice

After the rebuild, did you add oil to your fuel to make it more like 25:1? Also, are you using the oil injection at all or premixing? Most of the rebuilders will have you enrich the feul for the...

    Re: 787 Water Regulator Performance

This isn't entirely true. A leaking bellows will put water out into the hull and is easy to find. If the spring rusts or fails, then the valve is supposed to lock closed and allow the water to flow...

Re: '96 SeaDoo GTX cranks but won't start

Re: 787 bogs at WOT won't go past 4000 RPM WTF!!!!

SBNs are easy to rebuild but you MUST check the pop-off pressures and they MUST be in spec AND close to each other.

At this point, I doubt your problem is carb unless you have the cable adjusted...
  39. Re: 96 seadoo xp 787 rotary valve and cover question

Short answer is yes. It will affect start-up. The question is how long you can tolerate it until it simply will not start at all in the water. The spec is there for a reason.

if you had the rotary valve off do NOT align it with the marks. Get a protractor and do it right. The marks do not necessarily align at the correct times!
