    Re: X2 1" 6061 aluminum pump spacers

    [QUOTE=WaveRunner Eagle;4460335]I
You can see the before and after below. On a stock ski, a lot of the thrust hits the inside of the pump tunnel in a turn. Usually people chop the hull shorter, but...

Re: Waveblaster 61x low compression protec head

.5 is bore, ported is inlet and exhaust porting. two different things. You can have larger bore size and maintain same porting. Adtl. searching will explain things better than I can. If port timing...

Re: Waveblaster 61x low compression protec head

Was your cylinders ported? I too made the mistake with Pro-tech head and ported cylinders. Should be 175 but have only 135. I told Pro-tech I had ported cylinders too. Carl from Pro-tech has...

  9. Re: Last 20% of throttle lever does very little but change the sound a bit?

MSD allows for max rpm of 9000. I adj. mine to approx. 7800. Dumb because I'll never get the motor to run with loaded prop above 7400. So now when it looses water as you say it will peak at 7800. It...

    Re: squish on 701

Wow almost forgot I posted this, but anyway. A 701 head on a 760 cylinder? Squish and or compression issues maybe. Use rosin core electric solder ( radio shack ) stuff. Easiest but not the most 100%...
  12. Re: Last 20% of throttle lever does very little but change the sound a bit?

Dave at Impros set me up with the Hooker prop. Raiders are known to be fast. I gps my ski at 49.6 mph. I don't read much about how fast guys run. Hotrods crank in mine so I'm trusting it to rev into...
  13. Re: Last 20% of throttle lever does very little but change the sound a bit?

If your losing rpms rapidly then yes I'll bet your running lean. But in my case I've tried jetting main and high speed screw in both directions and found very little gain above 6000. GPS will tell a...

    squish on 701

I check my squish and found .038" on mag and .033" on pto. The squish area extends about 7/16" of an area. I've been told .040" or less would lead to a blown motor. If so do I need to cut my domes?...
  15. Re: Last 20% of throttle lever does very little but change the sound a bit?

I'm right there with ya! Mods too numerous to mention. I'll say this though, shallow pitch prop and msd only yeilded 6830 on flat water.
I'm all about getting big low end torque, but if anyone knows...
  16. Re: Last 20% of throttle lever does very little but change the sound a bit?

you need to get a tach mounted somewhere so u can see what the engine is actually doing. I had same problem last year. too much time wasted trying to tune by the seat of my pants with out one.
  17. Re: 96 blaster 1 w/ mods: dual cooling seems necessary

How hot is too hot? removed my head with changable domes and found small o ring on top of dome to keep water from leaking out of top of head near spark plug was melted. Is this too hot?
