  1. Re: 2016 FX HO leans to left when riding in choppy water

Henry, that sounds plausible to me too. Thanks for coming back in and letting us know what you found.
  2. Re: Fuel Issue / Runs out of gas at half tank?

Another thing you can try is to put the fuel selector to "reserve." This will use a different fuel feed "tube" going down the tank. The reserve tube will be closer to the bottom of the tank.

Re: Need Cover Recommendations For My VXR

I just remembered that I had three covers from Watercraft Superstore. I loved the way they fit. Nice and tight and followed all the contours. I never trailered with them but I'm guessing it...

Re: Need Cover Recommendations For My VXR

It will keep the pollen out but I've never had a cover that can keep all of the water out. If it could keep all of the water out, it probably couldn't breath and none of the moisture inside would be...

Re: Need Cover Recommendations For My VXR

This is the one that I bought through eBay:

Re: FZR or a VXR ?

I'm sure the FZR is a fantastic ski but I've never ridden one. However, I do own a 2013 VXR and a 2012 VXS and I can say with 100% certainty that these are incredible skis! I can't believe how well...

Re: 1997 GP1200 top speed 52 mph GPS

52mph is definitely slow for this particular ski.

My 1997 topped out at 57.5 on GPS completely stock. I was hoping for a little better but that was all she had in her.

    More recently, I've lost...
  8. Re: 2016 FX HO leans to left when riding in choppy water

The leans are annoying. I've owned my '94 Raider since new and it's always leaned to one side at idle speeds. Always.

My '97 GP1200 doesn't lean at all at idle speeds.

    My 2013 VXR leans...
  9. Re: HELP Yamaha waveblaster 2 760 engine run away only when pulled out the water

I had a runaway once on one of the two Sea Doo XPs I owned. I had forgot to tighten the carb to intake bolts on one of the two carbs resulting in an air leak. Easy fix and once I tightened the...
  10. Re: Fun reliable ski to get. Everybody’s thoughts

The ski you are looking for would be the modern 2011 and up VXR or VXS skis. 1.8L 4-stoke engine and 180hp. A completely different animal than what you're used to with those VX skis. You'll have...
  11. Re: Can I tow (in the water) a stand up jetski?

BTW, I do already own a two-man raft. I would think that would work.
  12. Re: Can I tow (in the water) a stand up jetski?

Bummer for me. The ski I was interested in has already been sold  .

Wow! It seems like it isn't near as simple as hooking up a rope to the stand up ski and just towing it behind my sit down...
  13. Re: Can I tow (in the water) a stand up jetski?

So it looks like I won't be able to tow it behind me. I'll have to tie it off to the side of my sit down ski. Thanks for the information!
  14. Can I tow (in the water) a stand up jetski?

I've been into sit down skis ever since I bought my first ski brand new back in 1994. I still own that Yamaha WaveRaider. I've always wanted a stand up ski and now that I'm bored on my lake, I'm...
  15. Re: Looks like I lost some top speed on my 1997 GP1200

I think that one is a little bit lower than the other. It's set the way that I got it from my brother 10 yrs ago.

In May when this slight veering to the right first happened, I suspected the...
  16. Re: Looks like I lost some top speed on my 1997 GP1200

Over the next couple of weeks, I noticed that I was getting a slight bog off the line so I knew it was time to pull the carbs and clean them up. I also installed three new plugs just to be sure. ...
  17. Looks like I lost some top speed on my 1997 GP1200

I've got this similar thread going over on Greenhulk.net but it's pretty dead there on the Yamaha "old school" forum.

Took the ski out for the first time this year at the beginning of May. Ran...

Surf, I sent you another PM.
  20. Looking for a good OEM 1994 Raider wear ring

I've owned my WaveRaider since it was brand new way back in 1994. Yeah, its old but it looks better than many 4-5 yr old skis. The engine runs perfectly as well.

I used to live on the Atlantic...

    Re: xlt1200 fuel issue??

Clogged up filters in the carbs will definitely lead to ruined cylinders. I'm glad you found them and are cleaning them up. I always clean mine every time I'm inside the carbs.

    Re: VX110 burning oil...1qt/hr

If it were me, I'd do what Greg said to do in step 3 above :haha: . For 20 or so bucks, it's worth a try.

  28. Re: 1995 wave raider 701 as a wave jumping ski?

My 94 Raider has never done that and I bought it brand new in 1994. I hope it doesn't do it the next time I hit a wake :yikes: !

It's very light and jumps waves well. I lost the OEM ride plate...
  29. Re: GP800r Idles way too high - if you can call this idle..

Yep, essentially the same thing that was wrong with my Raider. I'm glad to hear that you took care of it with a real easy, zero cost fix!
  30. Re: GP800r Idles way too high - if you can call this idle..

I know this is going to sound basic but are you 100% certain your throttle is at idle?

The reason I ask is because I've had the problem with my '94 Raider (high, high rpm) and to a lesser extent,...

    Re: I picked up a running 96 XP 450$

  36. Re: why is a 94 waveraider faster than the newer ones

  37. Re: 1996 WaveVenture 1100 or 1998 WaveRunner GP1200

    Re: Lower Compression after rebuild

Just like bored&stroked and starlight said, you didn't hone the cylinders. That is probably 95% of the reason why your compression is low.
