    seadoo info gauge repair

    i got this of ebay sometine ago but only got to trying out now and it worked it fixed my burnt gauge.the guys email is at the bottom of this file
    hope this helps someone
    ps: thefile is big will take some time to open

    could you even read your gauge before the fix, or did it look completely dead? because mine looks similar but worse i don't get anything up on the screen is the film what help diplay the image?

    quite happy to see this as the price of this gauge is not cheap

      i could not read anything it looked burn .i ordered the film it came with a cd with the instructions ,did what it said and now it good i can ready my display again.toke about 1/2 hour from disconect to reinstal.can't remember what the cost was but it was realy cheap i want to say around $10 to $20

          do you guys know where i could buy that film, other then ebay, like can i get it at radio shack or somehting along those lines? and where can i obtain denatured alchohol, i have looked before and it is not easy to find around here.

            Radio Shack on the denatured alcohol,not sure where to get the film,buy it from the guy on Ebay.

                Here's a couple links you can try for the film, let me know if you have any luck. My MF gauge went out, 96 XP, but it looks like the silver coated film on the back is deteriorated, not the film on the front of the LCD.

                  Hey Guys,

                  Just wanted to say thanks for your help, i just got around to doing this now, i baought the polerizing film off http://www.polarization.com, and it worked great i tryed to email the guy who made the write up, but he would not answer me.

                  Thanks Again guys, you saved me $560 ish from the dealers around here for a new gauge.

                    And the fix is simple..... takes about an hour. you can also pick if you want black on silver or silver on black

                        By the way, what size of polarization film is needed? Is 2" x 2" sufficient? Sorry, I couldn't measure it myself but I am away from town and want to get parts on order to speed up the process.

                          i did mine, i can't remember exact sizes but i would go bigger then that, to be safe i baought like a 12"x12" it was like 12 bux or 20 bux i can't remember, but its worth it when the gauge goes for like $560 around here anyway

                            If you get a size that can cover the whole guage lens( the diameter of the housing) it should work. remember you might need to rotate the film to get the contrast right of the display. it only cost about $10 bucks a sheet.

                              I bought a 2 x 2 inch piece of film and it worked perfect. It really was easy and it saved me lots of $$$$. I would recomend anyone who is experiencing a bad Multi-Function Gauge to try it before buying a new or used one. I was prepared to spend $150 to buy used gauge on Ebay. Glad I waited..
