    throttle fuel pump question on 951
    2001 xp with a 951 has had little use the last few years. had more use the end of last season and had a hesitation taking off but great after that. winter project to clean carbs. the fuel pump that gives an extra fuel on acceleration was not squirting gas in carbs. followed all the way to the last brass elbow mounted on carb. both were stopped up. I gave some effort to cleaning them. I could insert a small wire deep into the inlet side. I could not penetrate very deep into the carb side. I tried drilling and it would not drill out. I have some old bn44's and got elbows off of them. now both carbs are getting a squirt. back to the original ones. is there a chance there are small steel balls in there to act as check valves. I got the feeling it was something round. if it was just dried ethanol()corn oil) it should have drilled easy. both elbows were the same

    There is a check valve in the elbow.

    Jet them for an accelerator pump delete, runs better and no more issues w clogged injectors

    I have done that to Yamaha xlt1200s and very satisfied but those ran real lean and I lost several pistons/cylinders before changing jets. these seadoos don't appear to have lean issues. do you have a link that shows what jets to install?

    Stock 2002 XPL
    remove accel pump
    162.5 main
    85 pilot
    95 gram spring
    2.0 N/S
    (so just change pilots)


    I used this setup all last summer on an otherwise showroom stock XPL. (so air-box installed)

    It runs perfect plugs look perfect! 65-80 degrees at sea level.

    It does burn a little more gas at cruise speeds but if your accelerator pump is done your options are limited for replacement. Accelerator pump is no longer available from Bombardier. The large round version of accelerator pump on 2002 is very rare now. The rubber mushroom check valves inside mine finally failed after 15 years!

    At Sea level 20 psi popoff
    2.0mm seat, 80 gram BLACK SPRING
    165 main closed
    95 lows open 1.5 turns
    Prok air filters

    Should pull hard off the line and pull 7000rpm,check prop trailing edges for proper degrees if not

    I was running the 95 spring & it siezed when I let off the throttle to low speed. Run 80 gram springs with open filters.
