Meter looks fine and in the correct position for ohms. Please clarify reading on plugs. Was it zero ohms (continuity) or was it no reading O.L.
That would make the timing off. I checked the timing with a light and it is correct
Have you looked at the flywheel key yet , it sounds like a possible sheared flywheel key
I will re-gap to 24. I was checking the spark 2 ways. Either using a spark plug light between wire and plug or taking plug out and letting it rest on
