Re: What's up?

Im in Idaho, not local, and I ride anything I can get my hands on. I have 5 skiis. A pair of 1997 Sea Doo GSX 800's, 1990 Yamaha Waverunner LX 650 (for sale), 1990 Kawasaki 650sx, and a 1993 750sx. I love the standups, yet also believe the couches have a place in the world too.

Re: What's up?

Hey doorjumper, I'm over here in Covington. Have you thought about where you are going to launch on the river? The only decent launch I have come across is the one at the mouth of the river at the lake. Hit me up some time and we'll get together and ride. I just moved over from the south shore so I'm still looking for new places to ride over here. I was kind of planning on using the launch at the end of Lakeshore drive.

Hey Vandalais, we went yesterday, Sorry I missed your post. Launched at the end of Lake Rd. in Madisonville. Cool place, lots of parking, ability to launch 3-4 at a time. $12 per year, get your permit sticker at the gas station/food mart in madisonville. (by the bridge) Keep in touch, take it easy.

Re: What's up?

Vandalais, I saw that you were interested in Horn/Cat/Ship islands last year. Did you ever go? We are seriously considering this within the next few weeks. Not sure if we can get out of Pass Christian, but, I heard this was the best place to launch.

Y'all are all down south. I'm in Northwest LA. I live on lake Bistineau, www.lakebistineau.com .I'm picking up a new F12 this weekend. I also have an SPX to fool around on. If I end up coming down this summer I'll give a shout.

Try to launch from Long Beach and save some fuel. West end of Cat Is. is almost due south from there. Be careful on low tides, the north side of Cat Is. can have a lot of sandbars and gets shallow quick...you should be able to see it ok unless the water has been turned up a lot by bad weather. Your going to bounce going across the channel...Ship Is. would be nice to ride to. It has nicer beaches. I don't know if the pier is still there near the old fort. Maybe gone after the hurricane.. I don't remember the miles from the harbor but i know you guys will check that for fuel range etc.

Hey wavedude, thanks for the info. You from down here man? My brother moved away from Long Beach a few months after the storm but doesn't know if there still is access for launching. Did you ever go to Steve's Marina for lunch/dinner. I miss that place.
