OBX/Nags head riding?

Besides no surf riding, what are the rulles on riding the sound/intercoastal/bay areas. I was planning on taking my skis this year but have heard conflicting ideas of what is allowed.

Re: OBX/Nags head riding?

You can launch out of Pirates Cove near Nags Head on Bodie Island, or you can also launch out of Teach's Lair south of Hatteras on hatteras Island. Me & a buddy launch out there when were in the area and ride the surf at hatteral Inlet...

Outer Banks has a tourism brochure they'll send you which lists any pwc restrictions in detail, by town, where you can launch, where you can't ride or how far off shore you need to be, etc.

Hello, I ride down there all the time! I put in down in Rodanthe at the KOA rental. They charge $5.00 for the day.

Says August 11th, but I think it'll be the 2nd. Lake Anna is the 9th & 10th. I think the 11th was last year.

Re: OBX/Nags head riding?

Looks like this years challenge (the 9th annual) will be cancelled. Derm blew out his knee almost 2 months ago. He is back on the water riding, but can't do any tricks as of yet and he says that he can't take the punishment of the challenge, but vows to be ready for the 2009 Oregon Inlet Challenge. If someone steps up to marshall this year's ride, it will be on like donky kong.
