| Re: Does anyone go in the Toms river area?? Hey...it's cool to see locals here. I'm new to the site, but I'm an old salt when it comes to the Barnegat Bay. I've been boating in the Barnegat for over 30 years, and it's really cool to find out new areas that I've never been to.
I sold my boat a few years ago when my dad got sick, and after he passed away, my family decided to just get a few PWCs instead of another boat. I've been reading the posts, and saw this about the F-Cove. Well..in all my years, I never heard of it. And I've probably ridden under the Mantoloking bridge 1000 times.
I've been reading about these lagoons...apparently they're pretty deep, and a pretty popular spot after Memorial day...still, I'd sure love to find a nice spot to really open up the waverunners, as the open bay can get a little rough...especially on weekends (and I'm still a noob on the PWCs...I'll admit it).
If you guys could recommend any other good spots for PWCs, I'd love to know about them.
Also, I was reading that you can't run the skis through the Point Pleasant Canal...WHY? I'm located just north of Normandy Beach...remember the old Thunderbird Hotel (now it's some condos or something)...If you head straight for that, and bang a hard right into that lagoon, that's where I'm at. The Manasquan inlet is a hellava lot closer than going all the way down to Barnegat light. If I do have to go that far to hit the ocean, do you guys know if there's a marina anywhere around there where I can gas up if I have to
Anyway...sorry bout all the questions...just found this site, and once again, it's really cool to see the locals
See you out there. Look for me on an 09 FX SHO (the tan one..don't know the official color), or sometimes I take the black 09 VX cruiser (that one's for the wife usually though)
