WTB 38 Carbs

Hey I have dual 44's on one of my WB and they are hard to tune in for putzing around on/off throttle. I think the 44's are more for speed. Does anyone have a complete set of the stock 38 Mikuni's they want to sell? I also have a R&D intake on there and may need a diff one. Not sure if it's 61X or 62T so will have to check on that part. I'd be willing to do a trade and work something out also.

Re: WTB 38 Carbs

It is probably a 62T, you will need an OEM manifold for the 38s. If you have 61x cases you wil probably have a very hard time finding a manifold for two 38s and would be better off running one 44 if you want to make it easier to tune. RandalJ1 had a pair of OEM 38s with intake and all that jazz, PM him. Take a picture of your carbs/engine.

That's what I was thinking too if it's a 61X case. Sounds good I'll get it out in a week and post back.

Re: WTB 38 Carbs

I am pretty sure only the '96 waveblasters came with dual carbs stock.

I think you are correct.

I have a set you can take off the SJ motor since its not in the hull yet if you can't find anything before our trip?

Na I'm good SXR this is for the 94 B not the 96. Yeah Yamanube it's a 94 those had 61X cases. It's not a stock machine but its still prolly the 61X. Maybe I should go with one 46 or 48 carb? Hate to go down to one 44 might be a dog.

So hard to say, it could still very well be a T motor if its modified. Regardles off the motor, if you can do some research and see if you can find some help with jetting you might have a nice rippin' setup right there. If it where me and it is X cases I would probably put on a modified single, maybe a bored 44/46 or a blackjack or even a powerbomb (my personal favorite). A single 44 would probably work just fine too, what kind of mods does it have?

Re: WTB 38 Carbs

Yeah 44's are pretty common I know on the Hulk there is a thread with everyone listing there setups. I could do some comparisons.

High compression head 175PSI
Coffman Exhaust
Vforce Reeds I think
MSD Enhancer
Lightened flywheel
Aluminum waterbox

Re: WTB 38 Carbs

You could look on X-H20 too, being that its the same motor as a superjet it is highly likely somebody has run the same setup and can give you pointers BUT you will need to know what cases you have first. Keep in mind, I am not saying that a single will work better or make more power I just prefer its ease of tuning and troubleshooting.
