760 in Blaster

Hey guys a local dealer has a Waveblaster II for $500, needs top end and crank bearings. Is it worth it worth it? I'm thinking $350 then I'll have everything to swap it into a blaster. Engine, Carbs, Pipe, CDI...

Re: 760 in Blaster

crank bearings probably needs new crank...new top end probably means it needs a bore too...so the question is can you find a complete 760 motor for less than that with no hours on the crank or topend?

Rebuilt crank though SBT is $200, I'm not sure where you can get a bore done or what it cost. Do you send the cylinder off or could you get new sleeves? Top is is $100 min.

So even if ski is $350. Looks like $700-$800 already.

Re: 760 in Blaster

SBT charges like $150 in shipping charges so I would just pick it up when down in Florida

Re: 760 in Blaster

I'm guessing Rehak you've seen bad threads on them. They have a 1 year warranty. And I just glanced at 1 thread and a guys bought a dozen with no problems. Atlantic jet sport was way more expensive. A local guy is a SBT dealer so he can get stuff at a discount. I'll just try to get the ski for cheap and go from there. Like $250. If the engines bad there's not much left on it for parts that are worth anything... WB II's are not much in demand. Carb's are worth $100. And a bad engines worth maybe a couple hundred? That's worst case if I don't fix it.

There's a stock 94 WB about 400 miles from here. Looks mint and was thinking pick that up and drop the 760 in. Would be a nice reliable ski.

Are you buying it to keep and rebuild the motor for transplant and then sell the rest to get your money back, or to fix and have a B2 to ride?

Transplant, there's won't be anything left on the B2 worth selling, but the B1 will have a motor to sell.
