World finals with a boat

Hey I'm going down to Havasu on Saturday and mentioned it to my buddy who wants to come along, and use it as an excuse to take his boat out one more time this year. Is it feasible to park in a boat and get a good view?

I think you can drop anchor just outside the boundary buoys

like what jonny said, you should be able to get a spot outside the race course.

Is this a common thing to do? As in do we need to get there early as it might get crowded? Can you advise me of a good area to go to?

About 18 years ago I used to sit outside the boundary on my 550 and watch, would get kinda busy back then. Last year on Sunday there was barely anybody watching from the water so no worries on getting there early.
