The Lake Mead Funk

Pretty much all summer I've had what can be compared to allergy symptoms, usually after I've gotten out of the lake, runny nose, sneezing, etc. Since we go so often its hard to tell if the symptoms would go away after a week or so. I thought it was just me, but just talked to a friend of mine who said he's got it too and several others he knows has it. Who's all got the Lake Mead Funk??

anytime water systems go low, water travels less and it starts to get nasty, if you want to avoid this ride at nelsons or anywhere above cottonwood, there water is clean and moving, the water at willow beach and back towards the dam is safe also, but govt is unhealthy for sure if you are susceptible to it

Did you know that the Vegas Valley Waste water dump's in the Lake ( north end) ! And the Drinking water inlet is south of the Dump Spot !! Low Lake levels, More concentration of the 'lil' Devils ! My neighbor works for the County, Water Dist. I noticed him hauling in Bottled Water every week , Wow, That's Confidence ! !

You guys don't know what the funk is. Try riding in mission bay or san pedro harbor anytime. That crap can give you the funk. I always feel pretty good after riding at mead. Maybe you guys need to build your bodys natural defenses to fight the small stuff.

Grew up surfing in San Diego, Mission is ****ing nasty...Can taste the metallic in the water and other **** I don't want to know about. I admit the water is getting nasty at the overly used places here though.

Probably because I'm pretty good at almost every sport I try. That funk really got to me on tuesday. I was only able to muster a 30 mile road ride both wednesday and thursday. 85 miles in 3 days and in the heat around noon each day. Katie hung in there to with 55 miles.

Big pimpin, how come you were not at Havasu with your croanies? Major session at Crazy Beach on Sunday. It was probably to rough out there for you anyway.
