ROUND ONE – NORTH ISLAND WINTER TOUR 2008

Location: Orewa Beach Surf Club , AUCKLAND – off the main road that runs parallel to beach
High Tide: 10.00am – limited beach space – vehicles on the beach for launch and retrieve only – bring a sand anchor if u have one
Times: Scrutineering 8.00am
Riders Brief 9.30am
First Race 10am 20 minutes plus a lap
2nd Race – Womens and 3D 11am 20 minutes plus a lap
3rd Race – Main Race 12 o’clock – 100 miles or two hours – BRING LOTS OF FUEL
Food: Cafes across the road – and Emma will have hot drinks etc for sale
Toilets: Located at the Surf Club – and changing rooms
Parking: Heaps of parking at the Surf Club
Prizegiving: Platinum Night Club @ 7.30pm – NO food available at the prizegiving venue
Remember to have the correct PFD’s, helmets, tow rope and loop, fire extinguishers and long wetsuit with footwear. Cellphones suggested.

***REMINDER INFORMATION ABOUT THE WINTER SERIES :
The Winter Tour Committee have elected to keep rules governing the tour rounds basically the same as last years.
DATES AND VENUES FOR EACH CLUB:
AJSA 24th May (Auckland)
WJSC 21st June (Foxton River)
Hamilton 26th July (Matakana Island)
WJSC 30thAugust (Wellington – Final Round)
There will be 4 winter tour rounds this year, as EBJSA elected not to host one, however, they will be back next year.
CLASSES :
Women’s 20 minute enduro + 1 lap, prior to main event
Pole Ski If numbers allow, minimum four
Runabout Open
R/A Stock Naturally Aspirated - if numbers allow
R/A Stock Forced Induction .i.e. Supercharged or Turbo Charged
Teams Open Teams ‘1st place trophy’ for 1st place naturally aspirated Team; however points will count towards teams open.
First Timers / Novice ‘entire season / individuals only’
End of the series: ‘Line Honors/Points Overall’ and Individual Iron man
POINTS SYSTEM: The 400 points system will be used again this year.
FEES: The fees are set at $75. Day license has now increased to $25.00, ($20 of this goes to NZJSBA), maximum of two day licenses per season. However, on club days as many day licenses as you like. No Day license fee charged for a first timer’s first race, however, they must complete and sign the form.

RACE DIRECTOR: It is truly a sad loss to our sport that Fraser McLean has stepped down from this role. Each club is responsible for sourcing their own race director for the day.
RIDERS BRIEFING: As agreed Race director is eligible on race day and his appointed assistant can do random tech inspections. It is at the race director’s discretion who he nominates to do these tech inspections.
