Re: Tuakau

Hey mate,

i wouldnt go to the waikato river at all. Its the most disgusting river you have ever seen. hahaha

There is like pebbles and sludge right around the outside of the river and can easeily be sucked through the jet unit.

i would recommend to just drive to the north shore and go somewhere over there.

Yeh Man! I went for the first time on Sunday it was fantastic. It's so different in the fresh water, and so much better too. No tides to worry about.

Yeh Mate. It's approx 50 min drive on the sothern moterway from Ti Rakau Drive< Pakuranag. About 5 mins after the Bombay hills Auto Bahn, then about another 10 along country roads-ish.

Re: Tuakau

I'd be keen to try the river some time as well. I've heard mxed reports about it from ranging from great to ****. I know a guy that goes bare-foot water skiing down there and he said they always do a cruise around with the depth guage to check out what's beneath as the river changes often and forms sand banks.

We should arrange a social ride down there with someone that knows it well. I'll talk to Karl and see if we can arrange it in conjunction with one of the Hamilton guys. We're keen to get social riders to join AJSA so we can build a social riders club in Auckland. If anyone's keen to join a social club, post a reply, or send me or KarlT a PM.
