** RIDE CANCELLED DUE TO BAD WINDS AND RAIN **

Auckland Social Ride, Saturday 13th October, Takapuna

WHEN: Saturday 13th October
TIME: 9:00AM in the water
WHERE: Takapuna Boat Ramp
THE RIDE: Cruise out around the back of Rangitoto to Onetangi Beach – Waiheke Island. Stopping for Brunch at Onetangi. Head back across the southern side of Rangitoto and back to Takapuna.
BRING:

Money for brunch
Warm clothes
Lifejacket for each person
Full tank of fuel (This is a long ride)
Tow rope
Anchor/sandbag for anchoring at Onetangi
This ride is not suitable for stand up skis.

This is a casual ride and not a race. Partners are welcome however please check out the course we have mapped on the website to ensure you have an idea of the distance involved.

Next ride: Saturday 10th November.
Launch at Hatfields beach, just north of Orewa, cruise out to Mansion House Bay, Kawau Island (there is a cafe there), and back.

Man I have just had alook at the map, that is a long trip do you think a full tank of has will make it there and back?

Yeah it will be fine. I have done a trip from Takapuna, around the back of Rangitoto (as per the map) and right the way arround Waiheke Island, back along the front of Rangitoto and into Takapuna.

So that was a trip right the way arround Waiheke Island

I did that in my Kawasaki STX15f (1500cc) and the alarm just came on as I was pulling in, so it had a good 15-20mins left in it. The SeaDoo RXT's and RXP's that came were all showing two bars left on their fuel, so they had a bit left in them too.

So we will be fine, my new 250x goes through way more gas then my last one, but as long as im not full speed it will be sweet as. If your worried take some extra gas in a smaller tank.

Everyone with a sit-down ski with a 50-60 litre tank should be sweet! Good thing about going in a group is that if you do break down, you won't be alone!

I wont be able to make it to this one

however im pretty sure i will be going to the next one at hatsfield beach
