Re: Ve920?

They are a overbored (usually sleeved) 800 motor with a stroker crank. They are a race gas only motor and are kinda like a 125 dirt bike in that they have a pretty narrow powerband if they have been ported correctly for it to breathe. It will hit hard enough to pull the staples out of your seat cover. I never raced one but rode one a feind had and it was rather upsetting to ride as a recreational ski. It was twitchy and again was a race motor so it pulled crazy hard when on the gas. If you rode the ski very aggressive it was awesome, but thats not reality for msot anyone for more than 20 minutes at a time. Oh, these motors need HUGE carbs to sing, and that means a 10 gallon tank will dissapear in a moto and a half, so arround 30 minutes a tank if you ridin it like you should.

If you want to build something truely scary, build an X4 hull with a 951 motor in it. It is easy to do and I think I've seen complete skis for arround $4k on this site. I rode one early last year and it was unholy. Even with a stock 951 and stock pipe they are dangerously fast. There is a guy in NC who has built some and has some good data on the build and speeds obtained from the conversion. These hulls are dangerous at speeds over 70 though since pump blowout is an issue and can literally throw you over the bars when it happens.
