Nothing should come flowing out. Remove the oil tank all together no need for it.

I run Castor927 at 32:1. Prob wouldn't hurt to prime the cylinders the first fire and run it a little heavier mix the first tank.

Buy a block-off kit. It'll come with all of the caps/plugs you'll need. I mix at 50:1.

Re: Taking out my oil pump...

i bought the block off kit, came with the plate, 2 screws and 2 yellow plugs. i know i have to use some gasket material on the plate and screw it in. i dont think i need the plugs because the old filter is coming off and puttin a new 1 on. i guess all the lines to the oil tank should come off with the tank and there will be no need for them anymore?

Re: Taking out my oil pump...

I run 40:1 mix with pretty good R50 oil. No engine mods.

Re: Taking out my oil pump...

(I would DEFINITELY lean out that oil mixture if you're using R50.)

Why? what's a little extra oil going to hurt? I will probably run my SJ at 25:1 with Castor, just because of water ingestion and the fact that I'm on my last bore.

I pulled my Blaster apart after several seasons of riding and using Castor at 32:1 and there was virtually NO wear.

Re: Taking out my oil pump...

I just think it's a waste to burn that much of that oil. It's expensive and it works well enough that it doesn't need to be run that rich.

I would thin that Castor out, too. You could run it at 50:1 (and probably even leaner) and you still wouldn't see any wear.

Re: Taking out my oil pump...

Nah, I'll pass. It's been working for me for a long time.

If l was stock I would thin it out to 40:1, but I'm not. I'm running this at the recommendation of the guy who built my engines. I think most guys who run bigger bore engines pad their mixture a bit.
