Re: pics of winter projects

Here's what I've managed so far on the Superjet:
Pulled the engine

Tore it down

Bad crank bearing

I ordered my crank, it's going to be trued and welded, gotta bore again if there's any room, new top end, and going through my carbs. I plan to lay up some carbon fiber in the superjet while I'm in there. I'll probably reinforce the handlepole area and put a backing plate on there as well. Also picked up some Tubbie Destroyers, hood straps and limiting rope for xmas.

Here's my next project, I picked up this 98 GP hull to replace my 97 that I split into pieces. Going to lay some carbon in this one as well and then if time and money permit go through the engine and throw a nice new ADA head on it. I'll transfer all my parts to the 98. Will probably paint it all flat black.

97 GP

98 Replacement Hull

97 GP

Im sure it is one of these threads and not to get off topic but how did you split that like right down the middle. Im guessing the engine wasnt running when it happened??

It's actually split right down the middle, from side to side, and around the top deck. And it was from one too many boat wakes. The 97s were known to have issues. It still ran like a top, even full of water. We didn't call it the battle boat for nothing.

I don't know, maybe you aren't supposed to nose stab a couch?

The guy I bought the ski from made it. It's pretty trick. Houses the MSD nicely.
