Re: o.c. shoals, today was a blast!

I dunno... I'm investigating right now. Can't find anyone thats done it with a SN so that poses a few questions.

1. Can it be done with fairly little mods in a SN. (other than adding in new engine mounts, the rest looked uncomplicated in the RN)
2. I've never ridden a RN, so I don't know if I will like it as much as my old SN. Feedback anyone?

I have also been thinking about still just repairing and reinforcing the GP1200 hull and doing the SJ as a separate project. Yesterday was PERFECT conditions for jumping it. I would have enjoyed it even more the the 1300. (It's a lot snappier in the low end and about 150lbs lighter.) If I wasn't so worried about it splitting in half and sinking I would have taken it out LOL

I enjoy having both GP's because they excel in different conditions. I think adding a SuperJet will complete the collection.

The SN and RN bottom deck are exactly the same. The SN has a lower handle pole bracket and a few other minor differences. As far as the 97, Dave and I are going to reinforce mine again. I've split it many times. BUT, had I pulled the engine and all to reinforce it right the first time it probably wouldn't have come apart. Again, I freaking beat the snot out of my GP.

As far as the 1200 in the superjet, it's a waste. If you are going to put a 1200 in it, don't put the 65u in there, get a big bore. You defeat the purpose of having a light ski. Not to mention you are trying to get the power down through a 144 pump. IMO, you'd need at least a 148 magnum. I have the same situation. I'm debating tossing my 1200 in WB2. Or maybe even another WB1. I bet you couldn't hold onto my 785 SJ for too long without feeling dead, and I guarantee it's WAY snappier than a 1200. The GP is one of the best all around skis that was ever made in my opinion. Don't give up on it. I pull monster nose stabs with mine, I think that's what really did her in.

Re: o.c. shoals, today was a blast!

Thanks for the feedback Waveblaster. I was thinking along the same lines as you. (was considering a GP800 in a superjet or just a modded 701) At my age, lighter is better. LOL There's a 94 WaveBlaster for sale right up the road from me. I'm gonna go check it out after work today. Maybe a GP800 in a blaster instead... but probably not.....I really was thinking Superjet as completeing my set. I've never ridden a blaster so I don't even know if I would enjoy it.

Big C. Thanks for the Superjet find. I'll have to call him and get more info. He says he blew the headgasket due to water ingestion. I have a feeling he never got all the water out and the crank is probably toast..plus he was asking $800. I'll bet he'd take less... but I need to get some pics and more info.

Re: o.c. shoals, today was a blast!

What kind of feedback can you give me on a blaster? I've ridden the bigger waveraider, can't imagine they would be close. Can you do subs and stunts as easily on the blaster as the superjet? My main enjoyment is really jumping so which do you enjoy jumping more? LOL
