Mechanic advice?

I just bought my first two skis and wanted a good mechanic. The guy I bought them from had his buddy do all the work on them. He was a jet ski mechanic but doesn't do it anymore. I just want to know if there is someone in the Melbourne area that is reliable and fair. I've never owned skis before and I don't want to get shafted by someone because of my lack of knowledge. I have a 97 Bombardier and a 02 Polaris. Thanks!

Re: Mechanic advice?

What kind of work do you need to do on them? Honestly, the closest reliable anyone I found is 2 hours south.

DO NOT take it to that place in merritt island off 520 - he had my 650 for 2 years and never got it running.

Other than that, there are some dealerships that will do the work, but at a price

Re: Mechanic advice?

Thanks for the replies. Just looking for routine type maintenance. Current issue seems to be carb shafts. I got a good deal on them and I could tell the guy really just rode them, that's it. No maintenance and all that, so I'm just now learning how to maintain them properly.

Dan, I'll be calling you. I'd really love to talk with an honest guy who will say, "Ok, you will ride in salt water mostly. When you pull them out, here's what you do and here's how to do it."
