How to determine cause of bog

I have a 95 SXI with all the go fast parts. Head, flywheel, wet pipe etc. It also has a Jetworks flow valve. It sometimes has a slight bog when stabbing the throttle from just above idle. When I jam the throttle a few times and then cruise and jam the throttle it seems perfect. How do I figure out if the bog is from the waterbox being flooded or a carb adjustment issue like the ski is loading up? I also have noticed that on the trailor a couple of times it has tryed to free rev. Hitting the throttle both times made it stop. The plugs look good when doing high speed runs. I ahve also noticed that after riding when the ski is on the trailor when you start it to blow out the water a decent amount does come out. My SXR with the wet pipe and Jetworks valve has no water come out after riding. Could it be that I need to make an adjustment on the Jetworks valve to decrease the water flow?

Re: How to determine cause of bog

check the carb base gaskets...they have a slight black film on them and over time or due to heat the flim will start to wear and air will start to come in and will cause a slight bog and it will get worst over time............i have the same ski and had the same problem

Re: How to determine cause of bog

thanks. With mine if you can get the ski to cavitate it gets on the pipe and accelerates like a rocket. If you go back down to idle it sometime will bog again.
