Ceramic coating OP head ?

I have been collecting parts for my sons 89 650sx . We are going to mod it out. I have a OP head that I wanted to have ceramic coated ( chrome ). I believe coating the outside of the head is OK but, what about coating the underside and domes ? Any reason NOT to ? Heat dispersion concerns ? Thus keeping combustion heat in the exhaust gasses ? Could this be a problem ? Seems like a GOOD QUESTION TO ASK. I want to tell the whole story here.... I have coated the West Coast exhaust manifold & pipe ( inside & out )also. In addition to the intake manifold and OP Vortex flame arrestor. I don't see a problem with those items but the head underside concerns me. This is primarily for " eye candy ". Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike ( Michigan )

Re: Ceramic coating OP head ?

I wouldn't just for the fact that no one will ever see it. Here are some other things to think about.

Will it change the total CC's of the dome?
Will it change the squish? I know the coating is thin but heads are cut down to the mm so it might affect it.
Will it affect the mating surface? If it does then getting a good seal could be a problem.
How will it hold up to deto if there is any?
