Question Riding out of Dana point

Hey my name is Brad and new to this forum. I really want to go ride out in the ocean and wondering if anyone knows where you can ride in the surf without getting in trouble.

yea. cant really ride anywhere in the surf, you just get caught in a few minutes every time. best thing to do is wait for some big boats to make a wake for you. works for me

Re: Riding out of Dana point

My friends and I used to ride down towards Laguna... there was some rocks off shore that would kick up some nice waves on occasion. Nothing crazy, but much better than boat wakes.

Also, if the surf is big there are some nice breakers right there if you head south a few hundred yards.

Other than that you need to hook up with the O-side crew that rides in Ocean Side.

We take my buddies boat down towards Capo with my 86 550 91 Yamaha VXR and my buds 88 X2. We use the Boat as a base and have a gret time....we setup by the reef down there and do catch the occasional set.....We aslo may dash inside real quick now and again, We are going to go on Sunday. anybody else up for it?
