Is it required to have insurance in California?

I just picked up a pair of PWC's and I was wondering if it is a requirement to have the PWC's insured in the state of California? I looked on the DBW.CA.GOV website and it does not say anything about insurance. Do you all insure your PWC's? How much do you pay? And what type of coverage to you get? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Is it required to have insurance in California?

i insure my jet ski thru progressive. full coverage for 1 year = $268

This is all relative since I do not remember what the rest of the numbers are. I do have a $250 deductible. I think that I have $100,000 in liability/injury.

No, it is not a legal requirement.

If you ever have a accident on or off the water and or hurt some one you would wish you did , I pay $156 a year for full coverage with AAA on a 2007 FXHO

Ran with that chopped up aluminum prop? That's pretty much a waste of time. I understand wanting to go for a run but that's like running down the 1/4 mile with the parking brake on.
