just a reminder that the Norcal Freedom Ride is scheduled for the 20/21st of June. We're staying at the Orwood Resort, and hope the SoCal contingent will make an appearance again...

Anybody who hasn't ridden the Delta owes it to themselves to experience one of THE BEST riding areas in California along with a great contingent of riders from both NorCal and SoCal.

OK, we're only *10 DAYS AWAY!*

Here's a list posted on the main Freedom Ride Thread, just so you guys can start planning now.

START PREPPING! Here's the info we've compiled thus far for the weekend at Orwood Resort, http://orwoodresort.com/

Legal Notes:
• There is absolutely zero tolerance for drugs at any time during the weekend event
• We use the FAA rule for alcohol – “8 hours from bottle to throttle”. So midnight Friday is the cutoff for Saturday launching at 8 am....
• Anyone not complying with the above two rules will be asked to leave and reported to the authorities

PWC Requirements - All participating PWC’s must:
• Be in seaworthy condition – the Delta can be a dangerous and complicated place to ride, and your boat should be prepared appropriately
• Be registered – current registration and hull stickers must be in place
• Have a working fire extinguisher
• Carry a copy of current registration on board
• Have a lanyard if one was fitted as original equipment

All Riders Must:
• Sign a waiver
• Be current AWA members (sign ups available on the day) – if already a member, bring your AWA card or a Ride Magazine with your name on it
• Follow the directions of their "pod leaders" on the routes
• Know and comply with all relevant laws and regulations while on the water

REQUIRED SAFETY ITEMS:
• A legitimate Coast Guard-approved PFD is REQUIRED – no negotiation
• Fire extinguisher must work
• GPS OR a Delta Map – http://www.deltamaps.com/buy.html or the Delta map from the CA Department of Fish & Game is recommended
• Tow rope - 8' minimum is advisable
• Water and even an Energy Bar or two
• Money for lunch and gas

RECOMMENDED SAFETY ITEMS:
• Whistle
• Leatherman tool and sturdy hanger for debris removal from your grate, pump or impeller...
• Sunscreen
• Dry bag large enough for cell phone
• Cell phone
• Gloves
• Fenders and lines/rope for tying up to docks
• Water shoes
• Windbreaker or tour coat – it gets windy and cold quickly on the Delta
• Eyewear – sunglasses or goggles
• Lanyard for sunglasses
• Radio – FRS/GMRS capable, with 5 mile range preferred

For the BBQ on Saturday night, please bring BBQ supplies and your food.
