Re: may 30th, long beach to catalina ride

As I posted in the SeaDoo website, PWC's are NOT ALLOWED in Anaheim Bay which is where Sunset Aquatic Launch Ramp in HB is located. You will be pulled over and cited by the OC Sheriff if your PWC is under power in Anaheim Bay. Best place to launch to ride to Catalina (either Avalon or Two Harbors) is the Downtown Launch Ramp near the Queen Mary in L.B. at end of 710 fwy. A bit longer of a drive but a very short wakeless zone before you can open it up.
Count me in if you are launching there if you're planning on doing so before 8AM, the earlier the better.

Which one is Anaheim Bay launch ramp? I launch out of Davies (next to the bridge) all the time and seen many many PWCers launch from there. From Davies to Avalon is about 26 miles. The weather looks a bit sloppy this weekend. Good luck and have fun out there guys!

Anaheim Bay is the area you go thru from Huntington Harbour (Sunset Aquatic Launch Ramp) where no PWC's are allowed. Yeah I launch at Davies often as well. Long wakeless zone though. Is the Catalina ride still going to happen?

If anybody else wants to meet Jeff and myself at the South Shore Launch Ramp near the Queen Mary, the address is:

590 Queensway Dr.
Long Beach, Ca

Do a mapquest and you can get driving directions. We'll be there about 7 - 7:30
